Dream - Kaikoura Ranges

I grew up in Christchurch, and would sometimes take trips with my family to the coastal town of Kaikoura, famous for its seals, whales and lobster.

One day I was travelling from Kaikoura to Christchurch on the train, and took a photo from the noisy carriage. As I painted it, the memory of the scene began to match the way I had been thinking during the journey - a reflection of my life up the that point.
